This is a beautiful and unusual 1960's canvas handbag by Hermes with a beige canvas linen body and a saddle colored, tan leather trim. The leather handle is quite amazing - it has a sliding clasp so that you can adjust the length from a cross body long strap, or undo that clasp at the top, cross the strap over itself to create a double strap which then slides into place along the sides of the bag. It is quite genius. The front of the bag has the beautiful curved signature Hermes flap top closure with a gold tone, turnkey metal clasp to fasten. A zippered pocket sits under that fold at the top of the front bag and inside are two slot pockets, one of which is divided into two. Fully lined in tan goatskin. Made in France. In great over all vintage condition,
Wear to the leather throughout with light scuffs, scratched and some minor loss of color as seen in the images. The inside has a few marks from wear and age and the canvas shows some grubbiness. Sold as found. It is possible to take these bags to an Hermes boutique and send then pff to their "spa" for a refresh. There is a cost to that that is bag by bag dependent and I have priced the bag with that in mind so you are getting it at a very good price for such an wonderful and unusual vintage Hermes! This is real fashion history.
the bag measures 10" W x 8" H x 2.5" D. When the handle is worn long it adds 19" to the height. When it is worn short it adds 8" to the height. It has three interior slot pockets, one of which is stitched down the middle to divide it and one exterior zippered pockets.
